Who are KC Trojan Soccer
?
KC Trojan soccer was incorporated in 1979 and consisted of one team made up of grads from St Joes and O’Leary High Schools. Today KC Soccer competes at both the adult and youth level in the Edmonton area with the original team still together and competing in master’s soccer.

  • Is KC Trojan Soccer part of the Knights of Columbus Organization?
    Initially KC soccer came under the Knights organization but today KC soccer is an independent association and receives no funding or assistance from the Knights of Columbus
  • Do I have to be catholic to play for KC Trojans?
    NO
    KC Trojan Soccer is open to players from any denomination who are interested in our organization and want learn soccer so they can play at a competitive club level.
  • What is club soccer?
    In club soccer the focus is on the development of players to compete at a higher level by having knowledgeable qualified coaches teaching both individual and team skills. Club soccer teams compete only at the Tier I and Tier II level locally and provincially. KC Trojan Soccer is a member of EIYSA and is located in the south zone
  • Must I be a good soccer player to play club soccer?
    The focus at then entry level is to take interested players and develop them. As a player progresses they are introduced to the tryout system where the team the player plays for is dependent on their skill development
  • How much is registration and what do I get?
    Registration is $250 for U-12 and $500 for all other age categories. Included in the fee are uniforms (including shorts and socks), all league fees, one tournament entry fee per season, a dedicated coach, technical instruction, and financial support for all teams earning a provincial or national berth.
  • How much extra fundraising must I do?  
    KC Soccer does not ask individual parents to do extra fundraising for the Association. Teams and team members are required to participate in the Associations’ annual fund raising endeavors. Individual teams set their own plans for participation beyond league play and are tasked with arranging their own fundraising.  From time to time, the league (EIYSA) will ask clubs to provide volunteers for fundraising activities.  Typically this is a casino every 2 years (last held April 2010).
  • What is the commitment required to participate in club soccer?
    Each team plays one game per week and has a minimum of one practice per week. The number of practices is agreed upon between the players and the their coach
